# OpenWRT on the Dockstar
## Overview
## Tools
You will need a Serial terminal and a TFTP server.
sudo aptitude install picocom tftpd-hpa
Configure the TFTP server according to your setup.
## Files
Download the files for the Dockstar from the OpenWRT repository:
https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05/kirkwood/generic/
## Steps
### Connect
picocom -s 115200 /dev/ttyUSB0 ## All Next commands are for the Dockstar reboot
### Update U-Boot
setenv serverip 192.168.xxx.xxx
mw 0x800000 0xffff 0x80000 tftpboot 0x800000 openwrt-kirkwood-dockstar-u-boot.kwb nand erase 0x000000 0x100000 nand write.e 0x800000 0x000000 0x80000 setenv bootcmd nand read.e 0x2000000 0x100000 0x400000\; go 0x2000000 saveenv reboot
### Configure U-Boot
# Update BootCMD setenv bootcmd 'setenv bootargs ${console} ${mtdparts} ${bootargs_root}; ubi part root; ubifsmount ubi:rootfs; run ubiboot_n1' setenv ubiboot_n1 'ubifsload 0x800000 ${kernel}; ubifsumount; bootz 0x800000' # Reset network config setenv ipaddr 192.168.xxx.yyy setenv serverip 192.168.xxx.xxx setenv netmask 255.255.255.0 setenv ethaddr ab:cd:ef:ab:cd saveenv
### Flash the RootFS
nand erase 0x200000 0xfe00000 ubi part root ubi create rootfs 0xA00000 tftpboot 0x800000 openwrt-15.05-kirkwood-dockstar-rootfs.ubifs ubi write 0x800000 rootfs ${filesize} ubi create rootfs_data
### Install the Kernel image
## RAM boot setenv bootargs ${console} ${mtdparts} ${bootargs_root} tftpboot 0x800000 openwrt-15.05-kirkwood-dockstar-zImage bootz 0x800000; ## Download and install kernel mkdir -p /rom/boot wget -O /rom/boot/zImage http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05/kirkwood/generic/openwrt-15.05-kirkwood-dockstar-zImage
### Enjoy ! Install some packages
opkg update opkg install kmod-usb-core kmod-usb-storage block-mount kmod-fs-ext4 kmod-fs-vfat kmod-fs-ntfs kmod-nls-cp437 kmod-nls-iso8859-1 e2fsprogs fdisk kmod-usb2
